Southwest Surfaces Series
This series of photographs give a feel for the vernacular nature of New Mexico. In New Mexico there is beauty in the happenstance of paints merging and peeling, in abandoned homes that have been boarded up and tin placed over windows, or in junk heaps that await re-invention for the next building project or needed repair. My eye looks beyond what could be considered decay or chaos and into a specific corner of an object or a wall to find the poetry of light, color and design.
